Lend a Hand: I Believe in Me
Artists young and old, hobbyists and pros, have arrive collectively in an hard work to advantage neighborhood nonprofit I Think in Me, Inc. for the 11th annual Lend A Hand neighborhood art auction.
Lend a Hand was started off by artists Courtney Prahl and Whitney Dahlberg and is supported by the partnership of The Muse, a downtown Frederick store that specializes in handmade goods by nearby artists.
“We are often collaborating in several charity events, and I seriously required to build just one that impressed the community via art,” Dahlberg reported.
“This party definitely gave members a sensation that they actively did anything and were being right connected to the charity,” Prahl extra.
Lend a Hand is a one of a kind event that brings together group participation with charitable offering.
Each yr, Lend a Hand commences with a phone for artwork, in which community customers are invited to purchase a canvas to use to generate a work of art for the auction. All the finished canvases are then returned to The Muse, where by they are exhibited through September as a silent auction.
This calendar year, more than 70 canvases had been sold. Completed canvases have been returned as artworks in a huge selection of mediums, including paint, collage and fabric.
This year’s extra problem was that the art all had a standard theme of “I Consider in Me,” motivated by I Feel in Me’s mission of mentorship to produce upcoming local community leaders. Members have been inspired to produce art primarily based on whom or what inspires them to consider in themselves.
All funds lifted from both of those canvas income and auction proceeds will go directly to I Feel in Me. I Imagine in Me’s mission is to effects the growth and advancement of younger folks from the ages of 6 to 16.
