Delhi University’s commerce department recently announced the launch of a new Master of Business Administration (MBA) program that specifically emphasizes Business Analytics with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. The program has generated significant interest, with over 600 applications received for the limited 60 available seats.
Yogesh Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University, highlighted the need for innovative business minds to drive the nation’s progress and development. He stressed the importance of achieving a sustained 9 percent growth rate over the next 25 years to increase the per capita income six-fold. Singh recognized the role of start-ups in this goal, with India boasting an impressive count of 120 unicorns and over 1 million start-ups. He emphasized that undertaking an MBA at Delhi University requires dedication and engagement with new literature to embrace competition and foster creativity and innovation.
The orientation also welcomed students admitted to the MBA programs in international business (IB) and human resource development (HRD). HK Dangi, the MBA coordinator, highlighted the program’s unique approach, aiming to strike a balance between theoretical concepts and hands-on experience with industry software. The curriculum is designed to equip students with practical skills to tackle real-world challenges. It encompasses training in core management subjects such as financial management, accounting, human resource management, and marketing management.
Ajay Kumar Singh, the head of the commerce department, explained that the program was meticulously designed to cater to the evolving demands of the industry. It ensures that students are equipped with relevant knowledge and expertise that are up-to-date.
BR Shankaranand, the chief guest from Bharatiya Sikshan Mandal at the event, encouraged the students to focus their efforts on propelling India into the ranks of developed nations.
Prospective student Rishika Gupta expressed her excitement about specializing in international business and gaining practical exposure to the industry through the program.
